Interview at Tree House Concerts - May 23, 2009

I returned to that house concert venue on the Monterey Peninsula called Tree House Concerts, and this time the host, Greg Pool, recorded an encore and interview after the show. I sang three of my own songs, and I talked about seeing Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer at Kerrville in 1998.

Interview by Michael Gaither - March 15, 2008

Two part interview conducted by Michael Gaither (details). In part one, I talk about how I gravited towards music in a family where no one else played and about my collaborative efforts with other musicians such as Dayan Kai.

In part two, I play two personal favorites of Michael's, "Ruby and Rosie" and "Arsenal of Doves" and explain the stories behind those songs.

Interview at Tree House Concerts - May 14, 2005

I visited a house concert venue on the Monterey Peninsula called Tree House Concerts, and the host, Greg Pool, recorded an interview after the show, right in his living room. We talked about the Kerrville Folk Festival, the band Water, songwriting, the balance between work and play, singing with Chris Webster and Jamie Byrd, playing music with Dayan Kai, how I like to play with other artists, how the Earth influences your music, touring close to nature, playing with Chojo Jacques, and what music I'm listening to these days.

A special MP3 thank you to listeners of KVMR radio - I Am A Patriot

Recently, we've received several requests for copies of "Shadows on the Wall," the most widely distributed album of Keith's City Folk period. Many people have asked specifically about the song "I Am A Patriot," recorded by City Folk for this album.

We would like to give a special thanks to Brian Sweeney Terhorst, of KVMR radio in Nevada City, for helping to spread the music on his program, Harmony Ridge.

Brian wrote:
"I'm a DJ (and the General Manager) at a community radio station in Nevada City, California - KVMR FM; we broadcast at 89.5 FM and on the internet, through our website at www.kvmr.org. I host a program called Harmony Ridge, Saturday mornings from 7-10 a.m., featuring folk and acoustic music. Over the last ten years, the show has developed a pretty large and loyal following. About 7-8 years ago, I locked in on the City Folk cover of 'I Am A Patriot' as the closing signature tune for the show. And even after all this time, rarely do two weeks go by where I don't get a call asking, 'WHO does that?!?' Over the years, City Folk's music and that of Keith Greeninger have played a vital role in building an audience for Harmony Ridge. I field calls all the time on jillions of artists and no one has captured my listeners more than Keith."

We are working to aquire some more City Folk albums to replace our entirely depleted stock.

In the meantime, we hope you all enjoy this MP3.

We'll be continually updating this area with photos, sound clips, MP3s and even video, so check back often.
